Kara Martinez Bachman is a nonfiction author, book and magazine editor, and freelance writer. A former staff entertainment reporter, columnist and community news editor for the New Orleans Times-Picayune, her music and culture reporting has also appeared on a freelance basis in dozens of regional, national and international publications. With several thousand news stories, articles and multimedia reporting items under her belt, she’s interviewed many performers over the years, from local musicians to well-known celebrities. She's also read her writing for national broadcast on NPR radio and has had it featured in prominent literary and university journals. She’s a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and lives just north of the city in more rural St. Tammany Parish.
